What We Stand For:
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is more than a fraternal organization; it is a way of life built on enduring values that shape our conduct and our fellowship. At the heat of our Order are three guiding principles:
Friendship: We are committed to treating one another with respect and kindness, building bonds that extend beyond our meetings and into everyday life.
Love: We strive to show compassion to our fellow members, our families, and our communities. Love inspires us to serve, to care, and to act with generosity.
Truth: We dedicate ourselves to honesty, integrity, and sincerity. Trust is the foundation of our Brotherhood, and truth strengthens our unity and purpose.
Our Main Symbols:
Three-Link Chain: This is the most recognizable symbol, and it stands for the core motto of Friendship, Love, and Truth.
All-Seeing Eye: This symbol, which may be depicted with or without rays of light, reminds members that a higher power observes them.
Heart-in-Hand: This emblem represents frankness, candor, and sincerity.
Three Arrows: Represent the principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth.
Quiver: The quiver of arrows symbolizes the idea that members should always be prepared to aid a fellow Odd Fellow.
Bundle of Sticks: This signifies that members are stronger together than they are individually. While a single stick can be easily broken, the bundle is nearly unbreakable. This represents the importance of a concerted, unified effort.
Our Expectations:
Becoming an Odd Fellow is both a privilege and a responsibility. To keep our Lodge active, vibrant, and impactful, each member is expected to contribute in meaningful ways.
Attend Meetings Regularly: We all have busy lives, so we can’t make every meeting, but that is where we conduct business, make decisions, and share fellowship. Regular attendance shows a commitment to the Lodge, your Brothers, and the future.
Participate in Events and Activities: Odd Fellows are known for service and fellowship. By joining in on events, projects, and charitable efforts, and serving on committees, you help strengthen our ties with the community and deepen your own connection with the Order.
Support Your Brothers: Odd Fellowship is built on mutual aid. When a brother is in need, do what you can.
Uphold Values: Friendship, Love, and Truth aren’t just for inside the Lodge walls, they should be a core part of your life.
